Teach In: Empire's Prisons and The Iraq Occupaption

How does the occupation of Iraq highlight the function of empire’s prisons?

 https://www.outsavvy.com/event/29519/teach-in-empires-prisons-and-the-iraq-occupaption

Join The Muslim Social Justice Initiative (MSJI) for a teach-in workshop with our friends at Nejma Collective, as we explore the role of prisons in the ongoing ‘War on Terror’ - using the Iraq occupation as a case study.

Together, we will trace how the War on Terror unleashed a global regime of black sites, detention centres, and prisons, and how this violence continues to shape the lives of Muslims across the world today.

The space will include a community meal and Q&A with Nejma Collective, to reflect on what it means to practically resist empire’s cages, and build towards a world where no one is disappeared.

Tickets are free for marginalised community members (including those who are low-income), and we ask that allies in this space donate £3 which will go towards the delivery of this workshop.
