Honouring Resistance Art

How does Palestinian art resist occupation, and speak truth to power?

Join MSJI for an immersive workshop led by the incredible Nasima Bee, using Palestinian comics, poetry, and art as a lens to explore resistance and liberation.

This space will be held at Levenshulme Old Library, which is currently hosting ‘Enter the Mulberry Tree and Fly Free’: the first exhibition of comic art from Palestine to take place outside of the SWANA region.

In conversation with the exhibition, we’ll creatively explore:

🖌️ How Palestinian art resists and reimagines

🔥 The role of art and culture in liberation struggles
🗣️ Holding art with care, clarity, and solidarity

🍽️ Food will be provideD

🗓️ Thursday 12th June 2025
⏰ 18:30 - 21:00 (optional - you are welcome to arrive from 18:00 to view the exhibition)
